Microsoft’s Corporate, External & Legal Affairs (CELA) Global Sales, Marketing and Operations (GSMO) team has an exciting opening for a Data Protection Attorney to join our European Team. The role is an opportunity to make real our goal of being customer obsessed – ensuring that we are putting the customer and their compliance at the centre of our offerings – and to work in a very exciting and fast paced environment with exposure to a wide range of privacy, security, legal, compliance and risk issues across Microsoft’s businesses, principally but not exclusively supporting Microsoft’s Enterprise cloud services business. The role will work with sales teams and with the attorneys in-market to accelerate our customers’ digital transformation/move to cloud.
About The Role
As Europe Data Protection Attorney you will be required to have a deep knowledge of privacy and data protection requirements in Europe including the new General Data Privacy Regulation (GDPR). This is a key role within a highly visible Corporate, External & Legal Affairs Team, which will require the successful candidate to work in partnership with both the business and in-country attorneys as a trusted advisor.

The successful candidate must be able to quickly embrace (or in case of an internal hire, continue to embrace) the culture of innovation, constant change and relentless improvement that makes Microsoft the unique company that it is today and will be in the future, and be able to demonstrate strong business acumen and recognized operational expertise which will enable him/her to provide strategic guidance to Microsoft’s fast changing business. They must be action oriented with an ability to prioritize and manage fast moving clients, think strategically and always adopt a problem solving approach to issues.
